From an orange bar to a lime green laundry room, this North Dallas home has artful details

The artful, modern details in this North Dallas home will inspire you. Built in 1980, the home has a modern feel with spacious rooms that flow easily from one to another.

Walls of windows allow plenty of light into the home, and there are pops of color throughout — like a bright orange bar area and a lime green laundry room — that add an element of surprise.

This 3,601-square-foot home has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and two half-bathrooms. It’s artful feel is visible as you enter the property, as a trellis covers the pathway leading to the home and a large sculpture sits in the yard.

Listing agent Lucy Johnson of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty said that the home doesn’t feel like it’s in Dallas.

“You walk through this trellis and you’re somewhere else,” Johnson said.

The dining room is near the foyer toward the front of the home. It has tall ceilings, large windows and flows easily into the living space on the other side of the foyer. The home has multiple living areas, indoors and out.

The main living room has a modern-looking fireplace built into the wall on one side and a large wall of windows that run alongside the patio. A cutout in the wall provides access between the living room and a bar area (so you can play barkeep and easily pass drinks to your guests). The bar, which has a countertop area where you can place seating, is painted in a surprising, fun bright-orange color.

The home’s kitchen is just off of the living room and has enough room for a breakfast area plus ample countertop and cabinet space. The kitchen’s white cabinets are contrasted by dark gray floors and dark countertops.

A den is easily accessible from the kitchen and the breakfast area and offers an additional living space. The theme of large windows and light-filled spaces continues here, with a wall of windows along one side of the den. There’s also a set of cabinets and shelves for extra storage or to display decorative items.

The home’s primary suite is spacious and has a fireplace and sitting area in the bedroom. More large windows in the bedroom show off the landscaping outside and provide a view of the pool. Glass doors near the sitting area open to the pool area. In the primary bathroom, there are two sinks in the center of the room — on an island that is divided by a mirror between the two sinks — and a separate bathtub and shower.

Outside, the home has a covered patio and a pool with a water feature.

The home at 11215 St. Judes Drive is listed for $1,400,000. It is currently under contract.
